Sharing is caring

my codeworks uses a lot of open source software in its  work. Both directly and indirectly through third party services that in turn build on open source, such as Github. We want to give back to the community that helped us get to where we are by offering simple, powerful and free, both as in beer and as in freedom, tools for us to build amazing products with and on. Here is a list of organisations and projects that we currently sponsor and why:

Electronic Frontier Foundation

The foremost defender of privacy and freedom on the internet for the past 25 years. The EFF fights for the little guy against the big guys and for that they should have all of our thanks and support. We are proud to sponsor their continued work for the freedom that the internet has brought to so many. Hopefully it will help them to bring it to more as time goes on.

Software Freedom Conservancy

It is particularly their work to help uphold the rights of the GPL and other copyleft licenses against the companies that gladly use their own licenses against the little guy at the same time as they ignore the little guys licenses.

By helping uphold these unconventional licenses, educating companies about how to be better members of the open source community they are building the foundations of tomorrow and we are glad to lend a helping hand.

Wikimedia foundation

We all use Wikipedia almost every day. It is one of the most visited sites on the internet and delivers a massive amount of value to people around the world. We not only edit and write for Wikipedia but want to support the Wikimedia foundation's work even further, so we donate.

By helping to spread unbiased and correct facts to anyone with an internet connection, for free, the Wikimedia foundation's work is one of the most influential when it comes to lifting people in developing countries. Knowledge and education leads to prosperity and freedom. Keep up the good work!
